Hornets Win Booster Bowl
The Hornets had a lot to play for against Franklin, not only has the rivalry been renewed between these two teams, but the winner of this game would take home the Booster Bowl Trophy.
The Hornets defense stood strong only allowing 186 total yards for the Franklin offense. We welcomed back Senior Zach Fugate with open arms as he had to miss last week’s game due to injury. Zach was able to come up big for the Hornets with an interception to help keep the momentum on the Hornets side.
Even though the offense of the Hornets only came up with 187
Yards, Senior Devin King had a strong performance again with 135 yards rushing and a touchdown. Devin came up big in the third quarter when he broke for an 80-yard touchdown to give the Hornets a 16-7 lead. After that it was lights out for Franklin as Senior Clayton Campbell sacked the Wildcats quarterback on the last play of the game. The Hornets took the victory and the trophy with a final score of 16-9.
Please be sure to come out and join us this Friday when the Hornets travel to Valley View for what should be a very interesting battle between two teams aimed for the playoffs.
