Offensive Linemen usually don’t receive much credit when it comes to the success of the offense. The newspaper reporters love to tell you how many yards a certain running back racked up or how many yards a quarterback threw for. Rarely do you hear about the men in the trenches opening up the holes for the stars of the game to run through.
The offensive line for the Hornets is nicknamed the “Wolfpack” by Coach Ken Meibers, because as he says, “ they attack as one unit”.
This unit is the engine that drives the Hornet Machine.
The group is leaner than previous Hornet O- lines with the average weight being 238 lbs.
They are quick and strong and they will block you all night long.
During Friday’s 35-22 win against Dixie, the Wolfpack opened holes for 5 different running backs that racked up 498 yards on the ground. The team ended up with 593 yards of total offense, a new school record, breaking the old mark of 566 yards set in 1983 against Edgewood.
The starting offensive line consist of # 55 Keith Parker (6’1” 220#) # 58 Brett Timming (6’2” 225#) # 66 Logan Pence (6’2” 250#) # 74 Joe Farrish (6’4” 245#) # 77 Jacob Pence (6’2” 275#) and # 88 Logan Stanger (6’1” 215#)
